Dr. Michelle Volynsky, Ph.D.
Dr. Volynsky is an organic chemist with 25 years of experience in cosmetic chemistry R&D. She co-founded the Cosmoceutical Research Center manufacturing laboratory in 1995 together with Dr. Vartan Libaridian.
What a chemist sees when looking at a formula — molecular architecture, stability kinetics, delivery vehicle design — is invisible to a marketing team. That is not a criticism of marketers. It is an explanation of why Dr. Volynsky's products are built by a scientist and not a focus group.
She has spent her career solving the problem that defines the cosmeceutical category: how to get the right ingredient to the right depth at the right concentration in an organic-certified base. She has never released a product in under two years, and she has never released a product that did not satisfy her clinical parameters.
Dr. Vartan Libaridian, R.Ph., Ph.D.
Dr. Libaridian is a pharmacist with 30 years of experience in pharmaceutical and cosmetic chemistry R&D. His background is in systemic drug delivery — the same principles used in transdermal pharmaceutical patches, applied to cosmeceutical formulation. He served as technical director at Neutrogena, bringing some of the most recognizable products in the industry to market.
A pharmacist understands what a formulator alone may not: that the vehicle delivering the active ingredient determines efficacy as much as the ingredient itself. Dr. Libaridian's expertise in transdermal penetration is the foundation of Nujevi's delivery system technology.
The Founding Story
Both doctors. One laboratory. 1995.
The question they were trying to answer: why can't organic ingredients be delivered at pharmaceutical concentrations?
The existing industry assumption was that organic and therapeutic were incompatible — that you either had a clean ingredient list or a formula that worked, but not both. Dr. Volynsky and Dr. Libaridian believed the opposite: that the hardest problems in formulation were worth solving precisely because no one else was solving them.
Thirty years later, they remain the only ones who have solved it at scale and with certification.
Forbes Recognition
In October 2010, Forbes published a feature titled "Deep Chemical Peels No Longer a Risky Business," reporting on Dr. Volynsky and Dr. Libaridian's invention of PHA — a virtually risk-free deep chemical peel that achieved outstanding results without the standard risks of scarring, infection, and general anesthesia.
The article noted: "This giant leap in anti-aging science is the latest achievement of Dr. Michelle Volynsky [sic] and Dr. Vartan Libaridian [sic], both of Cosmoceutical Research Center." It also stated that their invention "has eliminated the intense inflammation, swelling, and blistering associated with other deep peels, so people can immediately return to work and achieve dramatic rejuvenation within a week."
The Patent
United States Patent US 8,460,687 B1, granted June 11, 2013, to Michelle Volynsky and Vartan Libaridian. Assigned to Cosmoceutical Research Center. Covers peeling compositions based on phytic acid for skin resurfacing, hyperpigmentation treatment, sebum control, pore size reduction, and acne.
The same patent classification category as Johnson & Johnson — a federal determination that the formulation was novel, non-obvious, and genuinely different from everything that existed before it.
Global Footprint
